What is the preferred upmix setting?

The preferred upmix setting allows you to select an upmix that will be activated whenever the audio stream playing is not in a native immersive audio format (i.e. Dolby Atmos, DTS:X or Auro-3D).

You can chose between:

• Native (no upmix is applied, the signal is outputted as is)

• Stereo Downmix (any source is outputted as stereo)

• Dolby Surround

• DTS Neural:X

• Auro-Matic

For example, if the audio stream is stereo or 5.1, the selected upmix will be automatically activated on playback. If the stream is in Dolby Atmos, it will bypass this setting and no upmixing will be applied.
